Whatupdoe!
Solo Theater Festival
1.png

Whatupdoe! Solo Theater Festival is an intergenerational space for artists to expand their creativity while offering the Detroit community a chance to hear and uplift the stories of our city, one voice at a time.

There are so many talented singers, poets, rappers, writers, actors, dancers, and storytellers in the city. Whatupdoe is a festival that is a space for each artist to explore the form of solo theater as a way to expand their craft and share their stories and ideas.

The festival's performances will feature theater legend Roger Guenevere Smith, as well as national and Detroit-based theater artists. The programming will include a series of masterclasses, and workshops for beginners to develop new work.

Whatupdoe! will be held at Andy, a fully equipped black box theater, dance studio, and art space in the heart of Detroit's Westside.
